Tyler Perry is like the bishop of what I think is going to be diverse from church to church.

Every church has a different opinion on the issue, and every gay person is different.

I think to speak about the black church, any kind of kindness or love in his heart, I’ve given that up because he is who he is. So, you have to get to a place where you accept people for who they are, and I’ve accepted him for who he is.

The bishop got up and addressed it. Now, this is exactly what he said at church: “I know who I am. This is what this is about. You think one thing? I don’t care. I came to do my job. I came to prophesy as I was commanded. There are no misconceptions about me.”

The line between fame and faith blurs in this conversation. Bishop Jakes, however, has staunchly defended Perry, stating that anyone may pray, regardless of their position, and emphasizing that sincerity is what matters most.
